Following the analysis of our annual Questionnaire it was clear that only a few people realised the true running costs of the Centre. It is, in fact, an Independent Charity and not funded or run by the Council. We receive a small grant which we have to apply for and meet certain criteria, one of which is to provide certain types of exercise for older people. The actual cost for running the Centre is just under £100,000 per year and most of this money has to be raised by fund-raising events and by our activities and private hire of our hall.
I can also report that the majority of the responses within the Questionnaire were very positive.
I also need to make you aware that the Board have decided, very reluctantly, to increase the cost of meals from £5.00 to £5.50. Teas will be increased from 60p to 70p. Both of these increases will start from 1st May.
There are still a few places left for our RAF Anniversary Celebration on 29th May. So if you would like to come, please put your name down in the office.
Thank you for your support as always.
